✓Endowed with immense natural beauty, salubrious ambience and tranquility the state has become the choicest destination for the tourists to spend quality time close to nature.
✓In 2010, Himachal Pradesh has been adjudged as the "Best Travel Destination" and the Shimla town as the "Best Mountain Hill Destination" in a survey conducted by the CNBC Awaaz.
✓During the year 2010-11 the department has published a Coffee Table Book
titled "Har Ghar Kuch Kehta Hai" and "Unforgettable Himachal".
✓The total number of tourists visiting the state decreased to 164.50 lakh in 2018 as compared to 196.02 lakh in 2017 while the number of foreign tourists also decreased from 4.71 lakh to 3.56 lakh during the corresponding period.
✓To give boost to the Tourism in the State, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved loan assistance worth US $
95.16 million under Tranche-I & Tranche-3.
✓ Under Tranche-1, the total finance approved is US $33 million and the completion period is June 2018.
✓There are total 19 sub-projects out of which 14 sub-projects have been completed and rest of the projects are in progress.
✓All these projects will be completed within the stipulated time period.
